T-Pain loves tech and, it seems, he wants you to sound like him. So, the hit record-selling singer, songwriter and producer, hit the Consumer Electronics Show on Thursday night to show off his I Am T-Pain Mic.

The microphone is a follow-up to his popular I Am T-Pain App for the iPhone made by Smule, which, like the mic, simulates the Auto-Tune sound for which T-Pain is known.

'We're milking this thing baby,' T-Pain said at the CES ShowStoppers event at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas, with his new microphone in hand. 'We're milking it.'

T-Pain's mic, which will arrive in stores in 'Juneish, Julyish' and sell for $39.99, gives singers an on-the-spot Auto-Tune filter, enabling them to sound somewhat like T-Pain's modified voice in his hit songs. The App sells for 99 cents.

The plastic microphone, built by the Jakks Pacific toy company, comes packaged in a colorful box giving it a look that would be at home in a Toys R Us, as well as a Best Buy. It's also one more example of T-Pain being among the more tech-friendly musicians nowadays, and also one of the funniest.

A TV commercial for Toshiba laptops, currently airing, depicts T-Pain telling executives their laptops need more of him, saying 'everything in the computer needs my face on it' and 'it ain't hardcore if it ain't hexacore' before droppig sandwich fixings over a laptop, leading the executives to 'invent' the wipe-off keyboard.

T-Pain said he's working on more tech projects that should be on their way very soon, but he wants to make sure that they're all fun projects and not just an opportunity to cash out.

'I'm a really tech-savvy guy, so I know a lot about technology,' T-Pain said. 'So we're just trying to expand on the stuff that I really like doing, you know what I'm saying? Not just something to get a check, you know what I'm saying? Just stuff that I can actually enjoy.'
